Ding – Whether you fly only a couple times per year or you fly frequently for business purposes, we all could use a trusted source for airline travel discounts. It appears that Southwest airlines has created a tool that will allow you to receive exclusive promotions and discounts for airline travel. It does this by downloading a small program to your computer that pulls promotional data from their system. Ding is completely free and will cost you nothing. It rests in your system tray or on your desktop if specified.

You are able to load up to 10 airport destinations. Once this is done you will be alerted by an audible DING that will chime everytime there is an exclusive promotion, discount, or special that is being offered. The program works on Windows and Mac computers.

This program may work best for the traveler that knows in advance where he/she will be traveling to. Just setup Ding to search for and alert you to specific promotions for your specified airport. If a deal comes across that you just can’t pass up, tickets may be purchased within specific dates listed for each promotion. The important thing here is that you will not be informed of these special offers through your travel agent or through a personal search. These offers are exclusive to the Ding system.
