Free Screen Recording Software Download With Camstudio

Camstudio is a free tool that will allow you to take screen capture for video recording. We came across this tool about 7 months ago although it has been around for much longer. The download that is listed on the Camstudio web page is apparently a previous version of the software. More recent updates to the tool do exist but do not have the features that the 2.0 version does.
Camstudio is a recommended staple for anyone who wants to do screen capture video. It appears that the value of this tools comes through in its flexibility. The number of options this tools allows you to manage is a bit overwhelming at first glance. As with other screen capture tools that we’ve tried, we were up and running with this software in minutes.
What I Like About This Free Tool
• What I like most about the tool has to be the flexibility in tailoring the software to my needs
• The highlighter tool over the cursor is another valuable option with the tool
• I like the compression feature, which appears to be a built-in tool for helping to shrink large file sizes
Things That Could Use Improvement
One thing I thought could have used some improvement was the embedded video function. I’m not sure if we were not using the software correctly or if there’s just a setting that we failed to check, but after trying to use this feature we were presented with a dark black box that covered about 1/5 of the screen. Other than this, the tool did exactly what we needed it to do, which was record video with decent quality. To test-drive the tool for yourself simply visit Camstudio.com here.
