Free Video Streaming Capture Software With Jing

Jing is a tool that will allow for screen capture in the form of video recording and still images.  I was initially blown away by the ease of use with the software.  Jing is perfect for instructional videos and quick tutorials.  For example I’ve used Jing to create instructional videos on how to properly post an article to the EzineArticles directory.  I also use Jing to do most of the quick videos for this site.

Jing only allows for 5 minutes of recording which might seem like a limitation in the beginning. Once you realize how organized your videos have to be to get your point across you may start to view that limitation as a benefit.  5 minutes will allow you to get your point across and help your viewer to remain interested through to the end of the video.

What I Like About This Free Tool

• I like the quality of the videos as the picture quality has been one of the best I’ve seen.
• Uploading videos to Screencast.com which keeps you from having to save large files to your computer
• After uploading to Screencast.com the embed links are ready for use on blogs, forums etc.

Things That Could Use Improvement

Basically the things that need improvement are the things that are offered in the Jing Pro version.  The free tool does not allow for direct upload to sites like YouTube and Facebook.  The free tool will display a logo on your recorded videos.  The free tool does not allow for webcam video recording along with your screen captures.  And the free tool does not allow you to save in multiple file formats.

Well, at a minimal investment of $14.95 all of these functions are available with the Pro version.  In the recorded video I am using the Pro version.  After seeing the quality of the free tool, upgrading to Pro was just a no brainer.

All-in-all the free version does the job and can be used for countless business applications.  So play around with it and get to creating some awesome videos!
