Free Background Music – Incompetech

Incompetech is website that offers royalty free music that essentially can be used as free background music.  There are hundreds of songs available that range from short length tracks to full-length audio tracks.  Some of the genres and categories that you’ll find there include:

• Electronic and Rock
• World and Jazz
• Film Scoring Moods
• Lighter Faire
• Humorous
• Calming
• Uplifting
• World
• Musical

The site provides a quick preview of the song so that you may listen before deciding to download.  While this did take some time to do, it was well worth it coming across a winning track and knowing that I’d have to pay nothing to download it.  The creator of the site is Kevin Macleod.  While he doesn’t charge for the audio downloads, he does advise that donations are welcome.

If you find value in what Incompetech has to offer and you plan on visiting the site often, I would recommend to bookmark the following addresses as it took me some time to get to these pages where everything was nicely categorized.  If you do enter through the main home page you’ll find that it can be a bit confusing to find what your looking for.
